Let Me Write About It

Long term interdisciplinary project
2016

Deals with the collecting and rethinking the narratives of young people who were children during the ′90s war in Bosnia, and with the ways of its representations. Fragmentary childhood memories  generate a different image of the war period and create an alternative to the parallel hate narratives.

Enforced by personal refugee experience and childhood spent in a safe foreign country, the overall compassion and not being able to comprehend the war mentioned discomfort, obtain their shape in 2015 after the Syria refugee wave made its route through the Balkans towards EU countries, with sensational and chauvinist media reporting and governments anti-migrant policies, succeeded in shaping the collective compassion of the refugee experience from the previous war, into fear and bigotry.
